The best way to describe this session? "What a difference a year makes!" I met this family when they were pregnant with this little guy!  We did a maternity session together and I just adored this couple, the sweetest people ever.  I was so excited to work with them again for a newborn session, but it didn't work out.  You see, just a few short days after their little guy was born he was admitted to the hospital and a few weeks later he was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency.  A diagnosis that meant isolation (to protect his immune system) and some pretty scary medical procedures that would happen over his first year of life.  Well, as you can see here, there is a happy ending to his journey.  Through prayer, support, awesome medical treatment, he is doing well and is the happiest (and most loved ) little guy ever and I was SO honored to be able to take their "first family portraits"!  

I LOVE the simplicity of his "ONE" photos, I don't get to do a lot of outdoor ONE pictures and that wasn't even  the focus of this session - it was to celebrate the family, but man, I want to do more outdoor ONE sessions and now that the time change is in effect, it works better with their early bed time since we can shoot so much earlier!
