There is something magical about celebrating a first birthday, especially when every detail is designed to tell a story. This beautiful Luxe Cake Smash session featured not one, but two custom sets, creating a gallery filled with color, personality, and timeless memories.

We began with an enchanting woodland-inspired cake smash. Surrounded by whimsical mushrooms, butterflies, cascading florals, and lush greenery, the set created the feeling of stepping into a storybook garden. Dressed in a delicate floral dress, this sweet birthday girl wasted no time digging into her beautifully decorated cake, giving us plenty of adorable smiles, curious expressions, and delightfully messy moments.

Cake smashes are about so much more than eating cake. They're about celebrating your little one's growing personality. Every laugh, frosting-covered finger, and playful expression becomes a memory you'll treasure long after the first birthday has passed.

After the cake smash, we transitioned into one of my favorite add-ons: the milk bath.

For this session, we created a bright sunflower-inspired setup featuring cheerful yellow blooms, rustic details, and playful spring accents. Nestled inside a vintage galvanized tub, our birthday girl splashed, giggled, and explored the water while wearing the sweetest sunflower crown. The milk bath provides the perfect opportunity to clean up after the cake while creating an entirely new collection of portraits with a completely different look and feel.

The combination of a themed cake smash and coordinating milk bath creates incredible variety in your final gallery. Families leave with images that are playful, elegant, colorful, and timeless, all from a single session.
